Responding for the first time after Telugu Desam Party legislator Revanth Reddy ended up in the sordid cash-for-vote case and got arrested, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu today slammed Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy for trying to blackmail him (Naidu).
Addressing a public meeting after launching the Janmabhoomi program at Chebrolu in the West Godavari district, Naidu dared Reddy to file a case against Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for unethically encouraging defections a day before MLC elections.
Naidu asked how KCR had offered shelter to TDP MLAs at his residence a day before the MLC elections. He also found fault with the TRS government for inducting some of the TDP legislators into its cabinet.
"First you file a case against KCR for immoral acts if you have the guts," Naidu demanded.
He also condemned Reddy's remarks that he (Naidu) was the kingpin in the infamous case.
Expressing serious discontent and displeasure over the Revanth Reddy issue and the reported moves by the TRS government to file a case against him (Naidu), Naidu said that it was the TRS government that was encouraging defections.
Also criticizing the opposition leader in the AP Assembly Y S Jaganmohan Reddy for leveling allegations from his (Reddy's) deeksha, Naidu alleged that the former had a bad history, and often came in the way of development.
He reiterated that the development works would not come to a halt despite the hurdles being created by the opposition parties.
And potentially giving room to Jagan to turn more vocal, Naidu also said that he had made promises before the bifurcation, and that the situation had now changed.
"While I had made most of my promises when in the united Andhra Pradesh, I will make sure I keep all the promises," Naidu stated. (NSS)
