Continuous efforts by the Telangana government finally fructified with the Centre agreeing to set up an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Bibinagar in Telangana.
Giving the nod for the AIIMS, the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry (PMSSY) Director Sanjay Roy, in a letter addressed to Health Principal Secretary Shanti Kumari, asked the government to give 49 acres additionally for the purpose.
The Centre also asked the state government to take steps for providing facilities like roads, water, power supply, land and other facilities necessary for the institution as promised. Roy also asked the state government to provide the details for taking further steps in this regard.
Reacting to the news Telangana health minister Lakshma Reddy expressed happiness over the development.
