BJP MLA M Raghunandan Rao today claimed that the union government was extending all the support it was obligated to provide Telangana, in every issue where the State required the support of the Centre.
Taking part in a discussion on motion of thanks to the address of the Governor in the Assembly, Rao said that the constant support of the union government to the State was evident in the address.
He claimed that the union government was helping the State in issues like the establishment of medical colleges and a railway coach factory.
Rao alleged that some public representatives were claiming that the union government was not returning the income earned from Telangana in a proportionate manner, and said that the union government was completely aware of its priorities viz-a-viz the needs of various states of the country.
Referring to the criticism of the union government that it has not sanctioned a single medical college to the State, Rao said that the Centre had come up with a policy to introduce healthcare services in all the areas of the country, and claimed that the Centre had sanctioned medical colleges to other States on a priority keeping in view the fact that the undivided AP had a couple of medical colleges before the creation of Telangana State.
