The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday served notices to Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar and TRS MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra, asking them to appear before its office in New Delhi on Thursday.

They were served notices in connection with the arrest of a fake CBI officer, Srinivas, who is allegedly associated with both TRS leaders.

A CBI team arrived at Kamalakar's residence in Karimnagar and served notices to him.

Another CBI team served notice to Ravichandra.

On November 28, the CBI had arrested Kovvi Reddy Srinivas Rao of Chinnawaltair in Vishakhapatnam for impersonating a Joint Director in the CBI.

The accused was staying at Tamil Nadu House allegedly impersonating himself as an Additional Director General of Police (ADGP).

"He has been impersonating himself as an IPS officer and a Joint Director of the CBI for lobbying with unknown public servants for getting favourable responses in various matters which include cases registered by different central investigative agencies," the CBI said.
