The Telangana unit of the BJP today urged Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan to order a CBI inquiry into the suicides committed by the BJP activist Sai Ganesh in Khammam, and a mother and son duo from Ramayampeta.
A delegation comprising of party MLA M Raghunandan Rao, former MLC N Ramachander Rao and others met the Governor at Raj Bhavan and submitted a memorandum to that effect.
Speaking to media persons later, Rao alleged that the TRS-led state government was forcing its political rivals to commit suicides in the state.
He also alleged that the TRS leaders were harassing the BJP leaders and activists by misusing their powers, and that the police were harassing the opposition party leaders in the name of counselling.
Rao said that the delegation had lodged a complaint with the Governor against the "government-sponsored murders" and the attitude of the police in Telangana, and had sought an inquiry by the CBI as nothing would be unearthed if the inquiry was done by the state police.
