Owners' Association Demand CBI Enquiry On Shankar Rao

The Green Fields Plot Owners' Association on Sunday demanded a CBI enquiry into the alleged land scam.

Addressing a press conference here, Association members alleged that former minister Dr P Shankar Rao and his family members were trying to give a caste-twist to the land scam. They claimed that although the Supreme Court had given a judgment against Shankar Rao, the government was hesitant to take action against him due to political reasons. They requested the Dalit organisations, supporting Shankar Rao, not to project the land scam as a caste issue.

The Association members asked whether a Dalit leader was entitled to grab lands of others. Demanding that the state government order a CBI enquiry, they expressed apprehensions on the outcome of the investigation being conducted by the Cyberabad police. (INN)
