A local court gave former minister P Shankar Rao anticipatory bail.
The Nampally court today granted anticipatory bail to the Congress leader in the Greenfields land dispute case.
His arrest by the police had created a commotion earlier in this case. He had then alleged that the police had manhandled him, and complained to higher authorities as well as to the Speaker, and an inquiry was ordered into the incident of his arrest.
While the police contended that Shankar Rao did not cooperate with them in the investigation process, he said that the police had behaved rudely with him.
He was immediately admitted to hospital, and his family members moved the Sate Human Rights Commission as well. (INN)
