Cash Seized At Hitec City, Murali Mohan, Others Booked

The Hyberabad police booked a case against actor and Rajahmundry TDP MP M Murali Mohan and others in connection with Rs 2 crore of unaccounted cash.
Hyderabad | 4th April 2019
The Cyberabad police on Wednesday night booked a case against actor and Rajahmundry TDP MP M Murali Mohan and five others in connection with Rs 2 crore of unaccounted cash seized at the Hitec City railway station.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar said that the questioning of two persons named Srihari and Avuti Pandari, caught with the cash during frisking, revealed that the cash was being taken to Rajahmundry to be handed over to Murali Mohan.

This was being done at the behest of two persons named Jagan Mohan Rao and Dharmaraju, both employees of Jayabheri, a company owned by the MP.

The police booked six persons, including Srihari, Pandari, Jagan, Dharmaraju, Murali Krishna and Murali Mohan, under relevant sections of the IPC for election code violation.

The CP said that Nimmaluri Srihari and Avuti Pandari were working at Jayabheri Properties as office assistants, and upon instructions from Dharma Raju and Jagan Mohan Rao, were carrying Rs 2 crore in two bags to hand over to Murali Mohan and Yelamanchi Murali Krishna of the TDP for distribution among voters in view of the April general elections. On Wednesday evening, while the Madhapur police and an SOT were conducting vehicle searches in view of the elections at the Hitec City railway station, they found Srihari and Avuti Pandari getting down from a passenger auto rickshaw and proceeding by walk carrying two bags towards the Hitec City railway station. When the cops intercepted the duo and searched the bags, they found cash of Rs 2 crore in Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 denominations.

When questioned, Srihari and Pandari told the police that Dharma Raju and Jagan Mohan Rao of Jayabheri Properties had given the amount to them at their (the latter duo's) office at Plot No 1, Jayabheri Enclave, Gachibowli, and asked them to transport the same by train to Rajahmundry where they would be received by Yelamanchi Murali Krishna, follower of MP Murali Mohan, at the railway station. In turn, the money would be handed over to Murali Mohan. The duo said that they had come to the Hitec City railway station by passenger auto-rickshaw along with the cash kept in two bags, and got down near the railway station.
