In an incident that is bound to make your blood boil, a YSR Congress Party MLA today beat up a voter at a polling station for asking him to stand in the queue like everyone else.
Annabathuni Sivakumar, who is the Tenali MLA, reportedly walked straight into a polling booth in the constituency along with his family to vote when a Gottumukkula Sudhakar, who was standing in the queue, asked his followers to stand in the queue like everyone else.
After the MLA stepped out of the polling booth, he straightaway walked to Sudhakar and slapped him.
Acting instinctively (and quite bravely), Sudhakar slapped the MLA right back. That then resulted in the MLA's supporters pouncing onto Sudhakar and brutally beating him up.
A video showcasing the entire incident has gone viral.
Sudhakar was quite bruised, and told the media later that he feared for his family.
Meanwhile, the EC took note of the incident and instructed the police to arrest the MLA. An FIR was reportedly lodged against the MLA and his followers.
