Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA T Harish Rao, on Sunday, suspected the hand of Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu behind the
statements of founder president of Rayalaseema Parirakshana Samithi Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy about the formation of a Rayalaseema state.
Talking to media persons at TRS Bhavan, Harish Rao accused Naidu of issuing such statements through his party leaders in order to scuttle the chances of the formation of a Telangana state, which, according to Rao, has "reached its final phase".
Stating that Naidu has never made his stand on Telangana clear, he condemned his 'double standards" and "two-eyes" theory.
He also slammed the UPA government for "cheating" the people of region on the statehood by resorting to delaying tatics.
Harish Rao condemned the UPA government for not honouring its promise given to the people of the region.
"Since leaders have no confidence in the TDP and the Congress over the formation of statehood, they are deserting their parties and voluntarily joining the TRS to strengthen the agitation. The agitation will continue until the formation of a separate Telangana state," he said.
Earlier, various party leaders from Medchal in Rangareddy district joined the TRS and expressed solidarity with the statehood agitation. (INN)
