The minister said that the Prime Minister had insulted the birth of Telangana State, and had done nothing for the progress of the State in the last nine years.
BRS working president and Telangana IT minister K T Rama Rao said that his party would boycott the tour to the State of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday to lay the foundation stones for multiple development projects.
Speaking at a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, KTR along with ministers Jagadish Reddy and Satyavathi Rathod said that the Prime Minister had insulted the birth of Telangana State and had done nothing for the progress of the youngest State during the last nine years.
"Narendra Modi has thoroughly digested the opposition to Telangana. He should tell the people with what face he is coming to our State," KTR said.
Alleging that the Centre was discriminating against Telangana in allocation of funds and projects, he said that Rs 20,000 crore were sanctioned for the coach factory given to Gujarat, but Telangana was given only Rs 521 crore in the name of a railway manufacturing unit.
The Prime Minister had also declined sanction to a tribal university and the proposed Bayyaram steel factory, but was now shedding crocodile tears for Telangana, the BRS working president said.
KTR also came down heavily on TPCC president Revanth Reddy for levelling "baseless" remarks against the BRS government. He also said that the people of the State were paying no attention to the accusations of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, and asked with what qualification the latter was criticising the BRS, and what the status of Gandhi even was in the Congress.
