BRS Secunderabad Candidate Padma Rao Goud Gets Christians' Support

Goud was the chief guest at the Atmeeya Sammelan of Christians in Secunderabad held a church's parish hall today.
Hyderabad | 6th May 2024
The BRS candidate for the Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat Theegulla Padma Rao Goud today said that the previous BRS government and he personally had worked tirelessly for the welfare of the Christians.

Goud was the chief guest at the Atmeeya Sammelan of Christians in Secunderabad held under the leadership of former Chairman of Telangana Foods Mayday Rajiv Sagar at a church's parish hall on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Goud said that he had worked quite a bit for the welfare of the Christians, and for the development of churches and Christian burial grounds. He also said that he was committed to the upliftment of the Christians in the times to come.

He claimed that if the Christians supported him and if he won the Lok Sabha seat, he would raise questions on the problems of the Christians in Parliament.

"Irrespective of politics, whoever is at the Centre, I will put pressure on them and work for the welfare of the Christians," he said.

He urged those who attended the conclave to bless him as the voice of the Christians, and ensure that he won a seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Mayday Rajiv Sagar said that the BRS was synonymous with secularism. He said that the previous BRS government and the first Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrashekar Rao had followed secular policies and stood by the minorities.

He alleged that the Congress, which had ruled the State and the country for decades, had done nothing for the development of the Christians. "And if the BJP wins again, it will conspire to cancel reservations. If the voices of the BRS, which are being questioned today, were not sent to Parliament, the Constitution will be undermined by the Congress and the BJP," he said.

CSI, pre-Methodist, Bapist, Salvation Army, Catholic Association, representatives of Dalit organisations, as well as pastors from the Secunderabad and Musheerabad Assembly constituencies blessed Goud on the occasion. Pastors Leonard, Tinakaran, Anand Kumar, Sudarshan, Jacob, Bishop Jacob, Beard Solomon, John Ravindra, Robert Surya Prakash, Sunil, David Raj, Catholic leaders M V Leo, David Shanti Kumar, Dayakar, Praveen, Kenny, David, former President of All-India Catholic State Andrew Xyver and others participated in the event.
