BRS MLA Janardhan Reddy Gets Relief In High Court As Nagam's Petition Dismissed
The court dismissed the petition filed by his rival Nagam Janardhan Reddy that Marri Janardhan Reddy had filed a false affidavit during the last elections.
Nagarkurnool MLA Marri Janardhan Reddy, of the BRS, got relief in the Telangana High Court today with the court dismissing the petition filed by his political rival Nagam Janardhan Reddy, who had alleged that Marri Janardhan Reddy had filed a false affidavit during the last Assembly elections.
Marri Janardhan Reddy won against Nagam Janardhan Reddy in the 2018 Assembly elections. However, Nagam Janardhan Reddy approached the High Court in 2019 claiming that Marri Janardhan Reddy had filed a false affidavit. Alleging that some details were hidden in the election affidavit, Nagam Janardhan Reddy urged the HC to cancel his election from the Nagakurnool constituency.
A hearing on this was held in the High Court on Monday. The High Court held that the petitioner did not provide sufficient evidence regarding the allegations in his petition. As a result, the court dismissed Nagam Janardhan Reddy's petition to cancel the election of Marri Janardhan Reddy.
