The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on Wednesday demanded that the State government book a case against BJP Telangana unit president Bandi Sanjay Kumar under the Preventive Detention (PD) Act for allegedly being involving in the SSC question paper leak episode.
The BRS leaders also urged the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to disqualify Sanjay from the Lok Sabha for his alleged involvement in the paper leak case.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, BRS MLAs Balka Suman, Jeevan Reddy, Gongidi Sunitha and Muta Gopal, and MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, alleged that Sanjay was one of the accused in the SSC paper leak episode, and had hatched a conspiracy to malign the image of the State government.
MLC Rajeshwar Reddy said that Prashanth, the main accused in the SSC examination question paper leak in Warangal, was no longer a journalist but a BJP activist. A day before the examination, Prashanth had spoken to Sanjay over the phone several times and had shared the leaked SSC Hindi question paper on some WhatsApp groups as also with Sanjay.
The question paper leak was done upon the instruction of Sanjay, the BRS MLC alleged.
BRS MLA Balka Suman claimed that Rajasekhar, the main accused in the TSPSC question paper leak episode, and Prashanth, who was involved in the SSC question paper leak, were both closely associated with the BJP.
"The Telangana government has recruited for thousands of posts during the last nine years and held many exams successfully. Unable to face the growing popularity of the BRS among the people, the BJP leaders have started indulging in these heinous acts to malign the image of the State government before the next Assembly elections in Telangana," Suman said.
Suman added the BJP leaders were resorting to leaking question papers just before Prime Minister Narendra Modi or Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visits to Telangana, so that the Prime Minister or Home Minister could criticize the BRS government and mislead the people.
He alleged that all the conspiracies against the BRS government were being done with the knowledge of Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Shah, and BJP national leaders J P Nadda, Tarun Chug and B L Santosh, and that the role of Bandi Sanjay was actually very limited.
