Senior BJP leader and incumbent Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar MLC N Ramchander Rao today appealed to the voters in the three districts to help him retain his seat in the upcoming MLC elections.
"I would urged the voters in the Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar graduates' constituency to help me win the upcoming MLC elections. I am confident the people will help the BJP secure a hat-trick of commendable electoral performances in Telangana. Last year, the people of the state helped us
win the Dubbaka by-election, and helped us capture a huge number of wards in the
GHMC elections as well because they realise that we will work for them. All these victories are but small steps to our great victory in the 2023 Assembly elections were we will defeat the ruling party and dethrone Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao," he said.
Targeting the TRS, the MLC said that it was leaving no stone unturned to win the MLC elections and had even resorted to "using" the legacy of former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao to gain votes and support.
"The ruling party is ready to stoop to just about any level to grab votes and retain power. After repeatedly losing the Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar seat, it has finally decided to field former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao's daughter, Surabhi Vani Devi, from the constituency - a desperate effort to win by using PVNR's enduring legacy. This is shameful. The move has also exposed the extent of the opposition of the graduate voters in the three districts to the rule of the pink party," he claimed.
Urging the voters once again to support him, Rao promised them that he would become the voice of the
voiceless if he won the seat in the March 14 elections.
With the day of the elections inching closer, the tension between the leaders of the various political parties in the state is becoming more and more palpable, especially in their exchanges on social media. Ramchander Rao himself had engaged in a
war of words with TRS working president K T Rama Rao just some days ago. The ugly spat was centred around the issue of rising unemployment.
