TRS leaders today alleged that the BJP leaders were luring voters of the Huzurabad constituency with money and gifts for the October 30 by-election.
A team of TRS leaders called on Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Shashank Goel and complained against the BJP leaders for election code violations.
The TRS leaders claimed that various accounts were suddenly being opened in banks in Huzurabad and huge amounts of money being parked in them by BJP candidate Etela Rajender and other BJP leaders, to transfer to voters.
BJP leaders were also sending money to voters through various modes including WhatsApp and Google Pay, they alleged.
These "illegal activities" should be stopped by the Election Commission, the TRS leaders urged.
The TRS leaders also accused the EC of giving permission to the BJP for meetings and denying the TRS a meeting for Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, and alleged that the BJP was influencing the Election Commission.
