BJP leaders Dasoju Sravan and Swamy Goud joined the Telangana Rashtra Samithi today in the presence of IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao.
KTR welcomed both leaders to the party and promised that their services would be utilised in an appropriate way by the party in the days to come.
Both leaders are alumni of the TRS. Goud had started his political career with the TRS in 2014 and had also held the post of Telangana Legislative Council Chairman, and had joined the BJP in 2020. Likewise, Sravan too had started his political career with the TRS at the time of the Telangana agitation, and had actively worked along with TRS president K Chandrashekar Rao, and had later joined the Congress and then BJP.
Earlier, in a resignation letter to BJP State unit president Bandi Sanjay, Sravan found fault with the attitude of the BJP in the campaigning for the upcoming by-election for the Munugodu Assembly constituency.
He alleged that the BJP was spending huge amounts of money to win the by-election, and that it was supplying liquor and meat to the voters instead of attracting them with its ideology.
Sravan said that he was resigning from the primary membership of the BJP due to that approach of the BJP to win the by-election at any cost.
In his own resignation letter, Goud said that although he had joined the saffron party with a lot of expectations, he was hurt by the attitude of the BJP and its failure to identify the aspirations of the people.
He also alleged that the party was giving importance only to rich leaders and big contractors, and was ignoring the true and committed leaders belonging to the weaker sections of the society.
Even though Bandi Sanjay belonged to a weaker section, he was not encouraging leaders of the backward classes, and importance was being given only to leaders of other communities, Goud alleged. He had faced a lot of humiliation and insults in the party, which had forced him to quit it, he claimed.
