The Telangana unit of the BJP today appointed mandal in-charges for the upcoming by-election in the Huzurabad Assembly constituency, the organisation of which has been necessitated by former TRS leader Etala Rajender stepping down from the post of MLA.
Party state head Bandi Sanjay Kumar issued the appointment orders.
The orders reveal that former MP A P Jithender Reddy, who had already been appointed as the Huzurabad constituency in-charge, will continue to hold the office. Besides this, former minister A Chandrashekar and former MLA Y Laxminarayna will be the co-in-charges of the constituency.
While party leader G Premender Reddy will serve as the coordinator of the party, Dubbaka MLA M Raghunandan Rao will be the party in-charge of Huzurabad town and former MLA R Prakash Reddy of the Huzurabad (rural) area.
Further, Nizamabad MP D Arvind has been appointed as the Jammikunta town in-charge and former MLA M Dharma Rao has been made the Jammikunta (rural) in-charge. Former MLA Enugu Ravinder Reddy has been given charge of the Veenavanka mandal. Another former MLA K Srisailam Goud has been picked to be the Illanthakunta mandal in-charge.
The saffron party has already stated that it is confident about winning the MLC seat. Some days ago, state party head Bandi Sanjay Kumar had asserted that the TRS would
not even recover its deposit in the Huzurabad by-election.
He had claimed, "After Rajender's resignation from the post of Huzurabad MLA, there will now have to be a by-election in the constituency soon. Unfortunately for the TRS, it does not have any candidates who can help it retain the seat. I am confident that we will be able to hoist the saffron flag in Huzurabad after the by-election."
