Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu expresses his contempt for all the scams, corrupt activities and crises occuring in the country, and blames the Congress.
Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu, on Thursday, said that policy-paralysis has seriously affected the country, and that fresh elections are the only alternative.
Addressing a press conference, Venkaiah Naidu said that the UPA government was celebrating its completion of 9 years in office, but that those celebrations were really not in order.
"What is there to celebrate?" he asked, adding that he could just see failures everywhere.
"The governance has become a causality and is suffering from policy-paralysis, affecting every sector, be it agriculture, industry, infrastructure, business, or even internal security. The government's indecisive policies, mis-governance, and lack of leadership are responsible for the current situation," he said.
Venkaiah Naidu said that there were actually three main power centers in the political hierarchy of the country, and that Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has no authority of his own. Naidu said that this has led the country?s image to sustain a serious dent in the eyes of the global community.
"Suffering from acute leadership deficit, lack of authority, the Prime Minister has become a burden on the country. His approach seems to be - see nothing, hear nothing and do nothing," he said.
The BJP leader said that the resignation of the Prime Minister merely would not suffice. He suggested that the entire government be adequately re-shuffled and re-built.
"The country cannot afford indecision, inaction, incompetence," he said.
Venkaiah Naidu alleged that UPA government has become synonymous with corruption, and that the party is offering the country a "jobless growth".
Elaborating further on his list of areas where the UPA has proven to be deficient, Naidu said that the UPA could create only 2 million jobs as compared to the NDA, which he claimed created 12 million jobs.
Venkaiah Naidu also alleged that the UPA has disregarded the independence and autonomy of various institutions - CBI, CVC, C&AG, IT, DRI being some of them.
"Now one of the General Secretaries of the Congress party has gone to the extent of criticizing even the Supreme Court of India to cover up the party's own failures", he remarked. (INN)
