Tollywood actor and TDP MLA from Hindupur Nandamuri Balakrishna, accompanied by his wife, on Friday visited the Medaram village under the Tadvai forest area in the Warangal district and worshipped the deities Sammakka-Sarakka.
He was accorded a grand welcome by the organizers.
"The Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma biennial festival has a great history. It reflects the Telangana culture. It's a good sign that the State government declared it a State festival," Balakrishna said while talking to the media. "During the TDP regime earlier, we had carried out several developmental works here including the construction of a bridge across Jampanna vagu, gurukul schools for tribal students and many others," he added.
