Telugu Desam Party leader and MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna on Thursday faced a bitter experience during his visit to his Assembly constituency Hindupur.
Activists of the ruling YSR Congress Party stopped the vehicle of the actor-turned-politician for opposing the creation of three capitals for the state.
They raised slogans like "go back Balayya" and asked him how he and his party were opposing the establishment of three capital cities in the state. They asked him whether he was not in favour of the development of the Rayalaseema region.
The protestors also called him a traitor of the Rayalaseema region.
Upon receipt of the information, scores of TDP leaders and workers reached the spot and clashed with the YSRCP leaders and workers, resulting in a stampede. The police rushed to the spot and dispersed the activists of both the parties.
