TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu today said that the Amaravathi farmers were facing difficulties for the last five years.
He was participating in a program titled "Golden Age of Telugu Nation - Sankranthi Sankalpam" held at Mandadam village in the capital region along with Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan.
"Anti-people decisions" of the YSRCP government and "anti-Amaravathi" laws were thrown into the bonfire on the occasion.
Naidu and Kalyan spoke later. Naidu said that the countdown had begun for the State government, and that good days were going to come back for the State. He said that Amaravathi's farmers had fought despite all the hurdles created by the police. He also said that the anganwadis had been struggling for the last 32 days, but that the rulers of the State were not caring about them. They were made to stay on the road even during the festival season, he lamented.
"There are also no remunerative prices for the farmers. They were ignored even though a storm came and damaged their crops. There are no employment opportunities for the youth, either. The TDP and the Jana Sena will take up the responsibility of providing employment to the unemployed in the future," he added.
Pawan Kalyan said that the time had come for the State to get rid of the YSRCP rule. He thanked the farmers for giving 33,000 acres of land for the capital. "Let's use that to build a golden capital. Many conspiracies were hatched to prevent the TDP and the Jana Sena from joining hands and making that a reality. Let us defeat them," he said.
