The Principal Sessions Court, on Wednesday, dismissed the bail petition of evangelist and Praja Shanti party founder K A Paul, who was in judicial custody for allegedly conspiring to murder his brother David Raju.
The court rejected Paul's bail petition as the police produced in the court recorded telephonic conversation that allegedly took place between Paul and Koteswara Rao, the main accused in the David Raju murder case.
While refusing to grant bail to Paul, the court directed Kandukur DSP Ashok Kumar to send the tapes to the State Forensic Science Laboratory for examination.
The court also extended Paul's judicial remand for 5 more days, and granted a Prison Transit warrant to shift him to Mahabubnagar from Ongole in connection with the investigations.
Earlier, Paul's counsel had sought interim bail for him to enable him to file his nomination from the Ramchandrapuram Assembly constituency and campaign for his party's candidates in the by-elections. (INN)
