The Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers (APNGOs) Union on Saturday demanded that Congress legislators from the Seemandhra region pressurise the Centre to stop the division of Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to media persons after leading a delegation to Gandhi Bhavan to meet PCC President Bosta Satyanarayana, APNGOs president Ashok Babu said that all Congress legislators from the 13 districts of the Seemandhra region should oppose the Telangana Bill in the state Legislative Assembly, and that they should also ensure that the Centre keep the state united.
He accused the Group of Ministers (GoM) and the Centre of ignoring the massive protests in the Seemandhra region against the bifurcation.
Condemning the Centre's "attitude" towards the people of the Seemandhra region, Ashok Babu said that the silence of the GoM over the protests was highly questionable and condemnable. He said that the people of the Seemandhra region have invested their wealth in Hyderabad, and that now they were being thrown out of the city. (INN)
