The employees associated with the Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers (APNGOs) association, and other pro-united Andhra Pradesh activists on Monday burnt the copies of the draft Telangana Bill in traditional Sankranti bonfire at different places in Seemandhra region.
The copies were burnt as a mark of protest against the proposed division of Andhra Pradesh to carve out Telangana.
APNGOs chief Ashok Babu led the protest at Ongole in Prakasam district.
Similar protests were organised at different places in the Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions.
Ashok Babu said that the bifurcation would adversely affect the students and employees from the Seemandhra region.
He added that the APNGOs would organise an AP bandh on January 17 and 18th. (INN)
