AP High Court Rejects Acchannaidu's Bail Plea

The High Court of Andhra Pradesh today once again rejected the bail petition of jailed TDP MLA and former minister K Acchannaidu.

The High Court of Andhra Pradesh today once again rejected the bail petition of jailed TDP MLA and former minister K Acchannaidu.

The MLA had been arrested on June 12 by the state police in the multi-crore ESI scam, and is facing charges of committing irregularities in the ESI when he was the minister of the department.

Acchannaidu is the MLA of Tekkali. He is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Guntur for post-surgery complications.

The high court also refused bail to the main accused Ramesh Kumar (former director of the ESI), ex-MLA Pithani Satyanarayana's PA Murali and a third accused Subba Rao, who were all arrested in the scam along with Acchannaidu.

The bail petitions of Acchannaidu had been dismissed by an ACB court in the past.
