The Andhra Pradesh High Court today granted regular bail to former AP chief minister and TDP national president Chandrababu Naidu in the AP skill development alleged scam.
Justice T Mallikarjuna Rao issued orders granting the bail to Naidu.
In his orders, Justice Rao said that Naidu need not go back to the Rajahmundry jail on November 28.
He however said that the conditions imposed on Naidu while being granted the interim bail would be in force till the 28th of this month, and that Naidu could take part in public meetings and rallies after that.
The HC also asked Naidu to appear before the ACB court on November 30, and also submit a report about his medical treatment to the ACB court.
The judge also said that there was no evidence to prove that Naidu had made attempts to influence the witnesses in the case, and pointed out that Naidu was out of jail for 22 months after the commencement of the investigation in the case. He also said that it could not even be claimed that Naidu had any role in the case based just on the release of the funds, and also that there was no evidence to prove that Naidu had diverted the funds so released to his party's account.
He said that a CM could not be held responsible for the mistakes committed by sub-contractors. He also said that there was no evidence to prove that the officials concerned had informed the CM about the violations committed by the contractors.
He added that Naidu was a Z-plus category security protectee, and that he could not evade the investigation into the case.
