Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP national president Chandrababu Naidu has been granted interim bail in the Skill Development Corporation case after 53 days.
The AP High Court granted bail to him on health grounds, for four weeks until November 28.
The court, however, imposed conditions on Naidu while granting the bail. It directed Naidu to submit two sureties to the trial court of Rs 1 lakh each, said that he should get himself tested and treated at a hospital of his choice, inform the superintendent of the Rajamahendravaram Central Jail through a sealed cover about the hospital in which he would be treated, bear the cost of the treatment, and inform the court about the details of the treatment given to him.
The court also made it clear that he should not, directly or indirectly, induce, threaten or give assurances to any person directly or indirectly involved in the case.
It also said that Naidu should surrender on his own at the Rajahmundry Central Jail by 5 pm on November 28, 2023.
Meanwhile, former minister and senior TDP leader Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said that the documents regarding the grant of bail had been submitted to the ACB court as per the orders of the AP High Court.
Speaking to mediapersons at the ACB court, Devineni said, "The jail authorities have also received court orders. Chandrababu Naidu will come out like a washed pearl. Cases are being filed against Naidu without any evidence. Yesterday, too, a similar case was filed against him in the liquor companies issue. Jagan looted Rs 1 lakh crore through liquor and hid it in his Tadepalli palace. He however files cases without any evidence against Naidu and his followers. No matter how many cases are filed, however, justice will win."
