APCC Meet To Sort Differences
Apart from seeking to sort out differences within the Congress over the T-issue, the meeting will be the first time that Rosaiah & Jagan will confront each other
Hyderabad | 6th April 2010
The AP Congress Committee (APCC), headed by M Veerappa Moily, will hold its first meeting on Wednesday. The committee has APCC president D Srinivas as the convenor, with Chief Minister K Rosaiah and Tourism Minister J Geeta Reddy as its members. Former Minsters K Jana Reddy, Md Ali Habbir and other MPs K V P Ramachandra Rao, K Sambasiva Rao and Y S Jaganmohan Reddy are members as well.
The agenda of the meeting is to bridge the differences that errupted in the party over the last four months in wake of the Telangana issue. More interestingly, it will be the first time Chief Minister K Rosaiah, and Y S Jagan, the son of ex-CM late Y S Rajashekhar Reddy, will come face to face with each other.
The duo had been avoiding each other, with Jagan's camp assuming that YSR loyalists may be dropped in the cabinet reshuffle. It is being said that party leaders are putting in efforts to lessen the gap between the duo, as they claim that this will help not only the party but also the welfare of the state in general.
The CM will visit Gadwal today, and participate in several developmental programmes within the town. He is scheduled to land at 12:45pm and lay the foundation stone for a protected water supply project.
Meanwhile, Jagan is all set to kick off his already delayed tour, 'Vodarpu', to call on the families of those who died or ended their lives after the tragic death of YSR. His tour will start from Eluru on April 9th, covering Ungaturu, Undi and Bhimavaram on the same day. On the 10th, he will visit Narsapur, Palakollu, Achanta, Tanuku and Tadepalligudem. On the final day, Kovvur, Polavaram and Chintalapudi will be covered.
