"Cabinet Expansion Unnecessary"

MLA JC Diwakar Reddy said that there is no need of a Cabinet reshuffle since all ministers are functioning efficiently.
Hyderabad | 13th October 2010
Former minister and MLA J C Diwakar Reddy, on Tuesday, stated that the expansion of the Cabinet was the prerogative of the Chief Minister K Rosaiah, but that he saw no need for the reshuffle since the 'ministers were working efficiently'.

Talking to media persons at the CLP Office, Diwakar Reddy said that the Chief Minister would expand his Cabinet if the need arose and reshuffle the ministers portfolios.

When asked if he felt that the postponement of the Cabinet reshuffle had anything to do with Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, Diwakar Reddy stated there was no threat to Rosaiah's cabinet and that if necessary the Chief Minister would expand it by taking clearance from the high command.

The former minister denied that there was any connection between AICC youth secretary Rahul Gandhi's statements and the turmoil about the microfinance firms in the State.

Reddy also criticised the demands of BJP leader Bandaru Dattatreya, who had sought an apology from Rahul Gandhi for extending support to microfinance firms.
