A low trough, which is centred around 1,500 km away from Machilipatnam, Krishna district, is estimated to take the shape of a severe storm by Friday.

Meanwhile, the death toll due to the heavy rains witnessed in coastal Andhra region has been put at 36, with 3 persons missing in East Godavari district, and 5 badly-injured in Srikakulam and Visakhapatnam districts.
Officials evacuated 33,153 persons, and 36 medical teams were deployed in Krishna and Visakhapatnam districts. So far, 6,71,526 persons were affected.
Medical teams were deployed, and 121 relief camps have been set up to supply food packets in the affected districts.
2 towns with 240 mandals have been affected so far in East and West Godavari, Visakhapatnam, Krishna, Vizianagaram, Nellore, and Kadapa districts.
As many as 11,321 houses were fully-damaged and 1,39,436 houses were submerged.
Agricultural crop loss has been put at 2,83,566 hectares, horticulture crops at 3,145 hectares and sericulture in 45 acres, while 411 cattle perished.
Roads (523) of a length of 1,737 km were damaged, while 1,608 tanks were breached and 11,269 handloom pits were damaged.
District Collectors have been asked to go to the rescue of the victims, while Army, Air Force and NDRF authorities have been alerted.
According to Disaster Management Commissioner T Radha, the rainfall today in various districts is as follows: Prakasam - 27.9mm, Nellore - 15.1mm, Kadapa - 8.33mm, Anantapur - 6.2mm, E Godavari - 5.2mm, Guntur - 4.4mm, Krishna - 2.4mm, W Godavari - 1.5mm, Vizianagaram .4mm, and Visakhapatnam .3mm
