Cyclone Helen Damages Estimated At Rs. 1,628 Cr.
6 people were killed due to the cyclone, with 2 deaths each in Krishna and East Godavari districts, and 1 death each in Srikakulam and West Godvari districts.

The losses due to Cyclone Helen have been estimated to be around Rs. 1,628.66 crore, as per the preliminary reports.
According to the Disaster Management Commissioner C Parthasarathy, a maximum loss of Rs. 1018 crore is estimated in East Godavari followed by Rs. 500.41 crore in West Godavari, and Rs. 110.25 crore in Krishna district.
6 people were killed due to the cyclone, with 2 deaths each in Krishna and East Godavari districts, and 1 death each in Srikakulam and West Godvari districts.
The authorities have set up 165 medical camps across the 3 districts.
A total of 1,313 houses were damaged in the East and West Godavari districts.
Agriculture crops like paddy and blackgram spread over an area of 4.6 lakh Hectares got damaged in 5 districts, as per the preliminary report.
Horticulture crops spread across an area of 8,700 Hectares also suffered damage in 3 districts.
Also, a total of 19 animals died in 2 districts.
The cyclonic storm caused immense damage to infrastructure, and the authorities have started the restoration works in all the departments. (INN)
