AP CM Y S Jaganmohan Reddy today unveiled schools constructed under the Nadu-Nedu scheme and launched the second phase of the Jagananna Vidya Kanuka scheme.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy today inspected the P Gannavaram Zilla Parishad High School in East Godavari district and inspected the works taken up at the school under the Mana Badi Nadu-Nedu program, which is aimed at providing education of international standards and corporate-level education across all the government schools in the state.
While there, Jagan also interacted with the students of the school and wished them luck. He then asked them about the facilities provided at the school.
Further, the CM inspected the quality of the school bags provided to the students and the menu served to them.
He later inaugurated the schools constructed under the first phase of the Nadu-Nedu scheme.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the AP government had modernised 15,715 schools by spending Rs 3,669 crore as part of the first phase of the program.
The leader added that he was "dedicating" his efforts to developing the education sector of the state to the students of AP. He announced that the government had decided to reopen all the schools in the state today keeping in mind the interests of the students.
"Students have been unable to attend school for much of 2020 and 2021 already. We have reopened the schools after heeding the advice of the WHO and the ICMR. The reopening has been undertaken under safe conditions. We worked to bring down the positivity rate in rural AP to 10% first. Now, all Covid prevention protocol is being followed by the officials concerned," Jagan stated.
He also flagged off the second phase of the Jagananna Vidya Kanuka scheme across the state. The scheme is reportedly being implemented at a cost of Rs 731.30 crore.
