Telangana Director General of Police Anjani Kumar today said that the department was closely monitoring the rains in the State.
"We are monitoring the rains from each district through the Chief Secretary. Additional DG Law & Order, Grey Hounds and other officers are monitoring the situation from the DGP's office," he said.
The DGP also said that some 2,900 persons had been rescued and moved to the rehabilitation centres. "We are conducting a rescue operation with six NDRF teams for the flood victims of Moranchapalli," he said.
"The situation is under control in the three commissionerates of Hyderabad. The flood water on the Musaram Bagh bridge is also under control. However, the public should come out only for emergencies," he added.
The DGP appealed to parents to remain vigilant with their children. He also asked the people not to come out of their houses to take selfies and face accidents.
"We also advise you to be alert around electric poles. We are reviewing the situation across the State in the DGP's office 24 hours a day," he said.
