The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu has decided to expand his cabinet on November 11 at 11:45 am.
Naidu's cabinet consists of 24 ministers currently. As per the Constitution, the upper limit for the number of ministers in the cabinet is 26 (15% of the number of MLAs).
According to sources privy to the developments, STs and Muslims are likely to get representations in the expanded cabinet. At present, there is no representation for either of the communities in the cabinet, resulting in Naidu giving one portfolio each to each of the communities.
