Hyderabad | 5th November 2022
The Admission, Fee and Regulatory Committee (AFRC) constituted by the Telangana government has found that several colleges in the State are violating fee norms by charging excess amounts for B-Category seats.

A meeting of the committee was held today, and the members who attended reportedly expressed serious anger over the irregularities.

The committee decided to take stringent action against the colleges which were indulging in the irregularities.

The AFRC also decided that colleges which had collected fees more than the norms should be fined Rs. 2 lakh per admission.

There are also allegations that some colleges had given admissions without following the procedure, and it was decided that for each such admission by the colleges, a fine of Rs. 10 lakh should be imposed.
