Sri Reddy Sits Half-Naked At Film Chamber Office
Tollywood actress Sri Reddy staged a protest against the casting couch in the Telugu film industry by sitting half-naked in front of the Film Chamber office.
Hitting out at the casting couch in the Telugu film industry and alleging that some people were intentionally suppressing her to see that she did not get a MAA membership, Tollywood actress Sri Reddy today staged a protest sitting half-naked in front of the Film Chamber office.
Speaking on the occasion, Reddy said that she had resorted to the extreme step due to helplessness at not getting roles in Telugu film without giving in to the casting couch.
"What is wrong in taking off my clothes? I stripped only to reveal the atrocious condition of the Telugu cine industry," she said.
She also alleged that not a single representative of MAA, top hero or big producer had responded to her protest.
She was escorted away from the area by police personnel after she refused to call off the protest. A police officer said she could register a complaint but a naked protest was not allowed.
Reddy alleged that many producers and directors had demanded her nude photos and videos for a film role, and that they did not give her the roles even after she obliged them with the requests. She claimed that filmmakers were sexually exploiting other actresses, too, and that Telugu girls were not given roles in Tollywood films since they were unwilling to sleep with the producers and directors.
For last few days, Reddy had been posting on the social media that the casting couch was rampant in Tollywood, and threatened to name and shame those who were sexually exploiting aspiring actors. She did not however take any names today.
