Film star Mohan Babu, on Sunday, announced that he was seriously considering a comeback to active politics.
Talking to reporters in Tirupati, Mohan Babu said that he was firm on re-entering active politics, but that he was yet to finalise the timing.
He did not specify which party he would join. He said that he wants to follow the ideals of social activist Anna Hazare, and that he plans to launch a similar agitation against corruption in AP.
It may be mentioned here that recently, Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu had visited the Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Institutions of actor Mohan Babu, and had met him.
There were speculations that Naidu was planning was planning to field Mohan Babu from the Tirupati seat, which fell vacant due to Chiranjeevi's election to the Rajya Sabha.
Mohan Babu, who made his debut in the film Swargam Narakam in 1975, acted in more than 550 films, including 216 films in lead roles.
He was nominated to the Rajya Sabha in 1995, and played an active role in the Telugu Desam Party. However, he stayed away from active politics in the last decade. (INN)
