Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths on Thursday nabbed a Deputy Forest Range Officer red-handed when he demanded and accepted Rs. 15,000 as bribe.
According to ACB Inspector Soma Narayana Singh, the accused officer was identified as Lakshmana Chary, who was caught when he demanded the bribe for doing a favour.
The ACB swung into action after a complainant had approached them, and pounced on the officer immediately after the bribe money was handed over to him.
After the amount was seized from his possession, the accused officer was arrested and sent for judicial custody. A case has been registered, and further investigations are on. (INN)
