ACB Registers Case Against KTR In Formula E Race

The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today registered a case against BRS working president and former minister K T Rama Rao in connection with the Formula E race case.
KTR is accused of misuse of authority, and his name has been listed as A1 in the case.
Senior IAS officer Arvind Kumar has been named A2, and HMDA Chief Engineer B L N Reddy, A3.
The case has been registered against KTR for the alleged misuse of government funds, under Sections 13(1)(A) and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, and 409 and 120(B) of the BNS. It is being alleged that Rs 45 crore was paid by HMDA to the foreign company FEO in violation of RBI guidelines.
The payments were reportedly made without obtaining approvals from the Cabinet or the Finance Department. The RBI had imposed a fine of Rs 8 crore on the then Telangana government for unauthorised transactions, which was later paid by the Congress government after coming to power.
