The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday raided the residence of GHMC Abids Bill Collector Narasimha Reddy in Kukatpally and unearthed properties worth several crores which he had amassed allegedly through corrupt means.
The sleuths also raided Narasimha Reddy's house at Satvahana Nagar and other properties after getting evidence of disproportionate assets amassed by him in Hyderabad and several other places including his native Siddipet.
At his three-storied residence in Satvahana Nagar, documents of properties - three flats in the city, seven open plots in KPHB, Nizampet, 32 acres of agricultural land in Nangunuru in the Siddipet district, 9 kg gold - were found.
Besides, various bank accounts and insurance policies worth Rs. 34 lakhs were also seized.
The accused locked himself up in the bathroom and was threatening that he would commit suicide if they wouldn't leave the house. However, the ACB officials knocked the door down and dragged him out of the bathroom.
The sleuths will continue the raids at Reddy's residence till the evening and at his relatives' houses in different places.
"Once all illegally acquired properties are seized, we will arrest him," said an official.
