The GHMC is taking steps to develop 107 junctions at an estimated cost of Rs 78.15 crore to enhance the traffic management and prevent accidents.
As part of the development of these junctions, signal installation to prevent accidents, construction of footpaths to prevent pedestrian accidents and beautification works will be undertaken.
Works at 31 junctions have been completed so far, and those at 13 more are in various stages of completion. Sanctions are yet to be received for 17 junctions, work is yet to start at 16 junctions, and the tender process is on for eight junctions. Land acquisition is pending for another eight, and at the remaining 14 junction enhancement is not feasible.
Junctions have been identified circle-wise and developed by the corporation. With the development of the junctions, motorists will be able to go to their destinations without any hassle and without any major delay.
