ACB Traps GHMC Town Planning Officer, Section Writer
Ch Uma Devi, a Town Planning Supervisor in Circle 3A in L B Nagar, and Laxman Yadav, a Section Writer (Outsourcing) in her section, had taken a Rs 1.5 lakh bribe.

Sleuths of the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau today trapped red-handed Ch Uma Devi, a Town Planning Supervisor of the GHMC (Circle 3A in L B Nagar), and Laxman Yadav, a Section Writer (Outsourcing) in her section, at their office when she demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh from a complainant named Jakkidi Sudhakar Reddy of Gurramguda village, Balapur mandal, Ranga Reddy District, for granting permission for the construction of a building at Vanasthalipuram.
The bribe amount of Rs 1.5 lakh was accepted through Yadav, and recovered from his possession.
Yadav confessed that he received the bribe amount on the instructions of Uma Devi, and both her hands tested positive in the phenolphthalein test.
Uma Devi and Yadav were arrested and produced before the Court of the First Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Hyderabad.
The ACB officials appealed to public to contact the toll-free number of the Telangana - 1064 - in case of demand of a bribe by any public servant.
