The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau on Thursday raided the house of Telangana Boilers Department director Vijay Kumar at Madhapur and found assets worth over Rs 40 crores.
The properties include a four-acre plot in Adibatla on the city outskirts, a two-acre plot in Hayath Nagar, posh houses at Alakapuri and Nallakunta, and a luxury flat where his family is currently living in Madhapur.
A huge cache of gold and silver jewelry and luxury items was also found in his residence.
His bank accounts and lockers are yet to be opened.
Vijay Kumar also registered several companies with his wife as managing director, it is learnt.
Meanwhile, in Andhra Pradesh, Deputy Commissioner of the Vijayawada Commercial Taxes department Shekar was found in possession of properties worth over Rs 1 crore.
Anti-Corruption Bureau officials simultaneously raided his house in Vijayawada and his relatives' houses at Tadepalligudem, Kakinada, Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad.
The raids started in the early hours of Thursday and are going on under the supervision of DSP Anuradha, and 10 teams are participating.
