The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today issued fresh notices to BRS working president and former minister K T Rama Rao, summoning him for questioning on Monday, June 16, at 10 am in connection with the Formula-E car race case.
Earlier, the ACB had sent notices to KTR on May 26, asking him to appear before it on May 28. However, KTR was on a tour of the United States at the time, and informed the ACB that he would appear after concluding his foreign trip. The ACB accepted his request and has now issued fresh summons.
KTR had previously appeared before both the ACB and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the same case.
On January 6, he went to the ACB office with his legal team but left after the authorities reportedly did not allow the questioning to proceed. He appeared again on January 8, and the ACB questioned him for about seven hours. When he was called again on January 9, KTR requested additional time.
For context, the Formula-E car race was organised in Hyderabad during the BRS regime. However, the ACB registered a case alleging the misuse of Rs 55 crore. The FIR named three individuals: KTR, senior IAS officer Arvind Kumar and former HMDA engineer B L N Reddy. All three were questioned by the ACB on different dates in January.
The ACB had also questioned Greenko Ace NextGen MD Chalamalasetty Anil Kumar in connection with the case.
With over three months having passed since the initial interrogations, the ACB has now decided to summon KTR for a second round of questioning.
