Telangana Minister for Transport P Mahender Reddy today launched the double bedroom scheme at Yalal in Vikarabad district.
He also participated in some developmental works in the district and laid the foundation stone for the Dharur-Tandur double road works worth Rs 10 crores.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the government had allotted 1,000 houses to Tandur under the free double bedroom housing for the poor scheme. For this, construction works would be taken up spending Rs 61.46 crores, he stated.
Reddy also said that the state government was spending significant funds for better connectivity between places. Double roads from mandals to districts and four-lane roads to district headquarters from the state capital were being taken up on priority, he said. The aim was to ensure that the capital and districts got better roads and infrastructure to witness rapid development, he said.
