468 Drunken Drivers Jailed So Far In City In Feb
Till February 15, 1,788 drivers were caught driving in inebriated conditions and produced in courts, and 468 sent to prison.

The Hyderabad Traffic Police is continuing its drive against drunken drivers to ensure road safety.
Till February 15, policemen had caught 1,788 persons driving vehicles in inebriated conditions and produced them in the III and IV Metropolitan Magistrate Courts, Nampally.
The courts concerned awarded prison sentences to 468 offenders, and permanently cancelled/suspended the driving licenses of 108 persons.
The trial courts also imposed and realized fines of Rs 38,48,700 from the traffic violators.
All the violators sentenced to imprisonment were sent to the Chanchalguda jail. Four offenders were imprisoned for 30 days each, three for 20 days, two for 15 days, 10 for ten days, three for eight days, eight for seven days, 13 for six days, 52 for five days, 61 for four days, 112 for three days and 200 for two days.
The violators were also counselled at the TTIs in Goshamahal and Begumpet.
The drive against drunken driving and other violations will continue for the safety of the commuters on road, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Kumar said.
