Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao today informed the Assembly that the state government had built 22 flyovers and underpasses in the capital by spending Rs. 2,000 crore.
Replying to a question raised by the members in the house during the question hour, Rao said that the government had inaugurated 24 link roads as well in the city.
He said that the government had taken loans of Rs. 5,900 crore to build roads and flyovers in the city, and asked the members to consider the loans as investments for the future, as the infrastructure would help the state develop much more, and accelerate economic growth.
He said that the road infrastructure would also bring in revenues for the state government.
Commenting on the second phase of the SRDP works, he said that the government had completed the preparation of the plans for their implementation.
