14 More Basti Dawakhanas To Come Up In Hyderabad District
The Telangana government has decided to extend the health services of the Basti Dawakhanas to new areas in Hyderabad district, adding 14 to the already existing 153.
The State government has decided to extend the health services of the Basti Dawakhanas to new areas in Hyderabad district, adding 14 more to the already existing 153 State-run clinics.
Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav said that there was a good response to the Basti Dawakhanas, and that 350 clinics in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits and 153 clinics in Hyderabad district were already rendering services to the people.
"In addition to these, 14 more Basti Dawakhanas will be included in Hyderabad district soon," he said.
Yadav was speaking after inaugurating two new Basti Dawakhanas set up at the Netaji Community Hall in Gunfoundry and the Subhanpura Community Hall in Jambagh which fall under the Goshamahal Assembly constituency in Hyderabad.
Yadav said that after the launch of the Basti Dawakhanas in the twin cities, the number of patients visiting the main hospitals like Gandhi and Osmania had come down, and that high quality health services were being offered to the people in their own localities free of cost.
Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh, MLC Mirza Rahmat Baig and other local leaders were present.
