Telangana Animal Husbandry and Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today stated that a super-speciality hospital would soon be established on the premises of the Government General and Chest Hospital in Hyderabad's Erragadda area.
Speaking after inspecting the government hospital along with Secretary (Health) Syed Ali Murtuza Rizvi and other officials, Yadav told the media that Rs 15 crore would be spent on the construction of the new facility which would be equipped with various modern amenities.
"The new healthcare facility will be built with an emphasis on providing quality treatment for TB and several chest ailments. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has agreed to sanction the construction of the hospital but will finalise his decision after receiving a report on the matter," the minister explained.
He then praised the vision of the CM, and claimed that the latter's foresight had helped control the spread of Covid-19 in the state.
Yadav added, "While other states struggled to control the current pandemic, Telangana, with its improved prevention measures, was able to stop the spread of the same."
This announcement comes after the TRS-led state government decided, at a recently held Cabinet meeting, that it would sanction the building of three new super-speciality hospitals and would undertake projects to upgrade existing chest hospitals.
